I'm obsessed with Doris Day

I honestly love this woman, I love her voice, and just how charming and real she is on screen...here she is with Gordon McRae(one of my first crushes). In By the Light of the Silvery Moon.

One of my favorite scenes ever!

I love the movie For Me and My Gal...with Judy Garland and Gene Kelly(his film debut). Gene was fresh off the broadway stage when he did this movie about Vaudeville performers who fall in love.

A scene from An American in Paris

Maybe the sexiest scene from an MGM movie ever... The trumpet gives me chills...

Hi from Kristen

Hey y'all...hi from Rochester...I am so excited to be joining in the voix de ville fun with Ms. Crosby...we are gonna have a terrific launch party as soon as possible after I get back into town. The weather will be beautiful, the spirits will be flowing, and the voix de ville project will be in full bloom so I expect to see all'a'yous there:)

Meet Kristen Mengelkoch!

This was a video the Fabulous Bill Selby made in his Forbidden Broadway "Behind the Mylar" series...here Bill and Kristen interview each other...

Another classic number

I know it seems like it's all Fred Astaire today...but he is our history...he started in Vaudeville, and in his late 30's began in movies...this clip makes me happy!

Classic Vaudeville number

Start your day with a little class...

Welcome to The Voix de Ville Project

Hello new friends! We are so excited to start this journey. Kristen and I are so inspired to bring some great projects coming your way...
Currently, Kristen is in Rochester, NY to be the star of Five Course Love. I look forward to her return, so fun can ensue...

What makes this project a dream come true is the possibility to "have it all". To be able to go out of town , do a show, come home and produce your own, hire your friends, throw great events - but mostly, to stop waiting for someone else to make your dreams come true.
Most of an actor's life is waiting...waiting to be hired, waiting for an audition, waiting for the phone to ring, waiting for someone to notice you, but mostly waiting...tables..
Kristen and I started this project because we are sick of waiting. I was sick to death of having my dreams, and career in everybody else's hands but my own. And now with this bad economy, the career I once had was gone...the rules changed. I find myself competing with American Idol rejects for a job that, five years ago, I would have booked. Producers have to sell tickets, I get it.

But this change made me scream "YOU CANNOT STOP ME FROM CREATING!" And so, The Voix de Ville Project was born. Broadway is no longer the place stars are born, it's the place tv/movie actors go when they need to prove themselves as "real actors", or recording artists go to star in CHICAGO when they get dropped from their label. We have to sift through a lot of crap, to find "real" talent. This is why we are Voix de Ville...the voice of the city.
Come join us, gypsies, hoofers, singers, comics, writers, and artists...we have a home for you...
